Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency

The Resident Services department has a full-time Service Coordinator to closely with residents in the Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) Service Coordinator Program to connect them with the right resources that will lead them to self-sufficiency.  Through advocacy, coaching, and accountability the Service Coordinator helps to identify the family’s goals and assets and assists them in overcoming barriers.  When residents enroll in the program they will:

  1. Meet with our staff and discuss goals.
  2. Determine which educational or career programs will assist you in meeting your goals.
  3. Provide support while you participate in the programs.
  4. Continue meeting regularly to provide follow up and employment resources.

Our community partnerships are the lifeline of the Service Coordinator Program.   We provide referrals that are based upon the family’s needs to these partners.  The services available include but are not limited to:

  • GED and Literacy  programs
  • Heartland Community College career and educational development programs
  • Child  Care Resources and Referral  Network
  • Money Management
  • Nutrition and Wellness
  • Parenting programs
  • Youthbuild
